Ken Engle had his beginnings in radio in a 1942 broadcast of a nationally winning speech for the Future Farmers of America as a high school senior in Abilene, Kansas. Following service as a tail-gunner on a B-24 bomber in World War II, he was an announcer with WMBI (Moody Bible Institute) in Chicago. Bill Pearce, host of the nationally renowned program Nightsounds said in a note to Ken, "You broke me in (to broadcasting)".

In 1951, he sailed to the Philippines as a missionary and was involved with FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Company) stations in Manila. Through the years hundreds of programs have been produced. In addition to Moments of Melody, there is Moment to Remember, The Emmaus Bible Hour, What the Bible Teaches, the "Living" series, and others.

Ken (2009) and wife Mary Lou (2003) are both with the Lord now. They were married nearly 50 years, served in the Philippines in radio and pioneering churches for 24 years, had six children, and a number of grandchildren.

Ken's life verse is: So, naturally, we proclaim Christ! We warn everyone we meet, and we teach everyone we can, all that we know about Him, so that, if possible, we may bring every man up to his full maturity in Christ. Colossians 1:28 J.B. Phillips Translation.
